Brooke Hunter founded HUNTERS International Insurance five years ago because, clearly, there is room for intense attention to risks facing today’s business and community leaders. The Hunter family has been protecting Canadian organizations and their leaders since 1888.

Brooke grew up in Toronto speaking the language of risk and insurance since working summers in the mailroom of Hunter, Rowell Insurance – which she likes to imagine, was not that long ago.

She had the opportunity to build sophisticated risk management and insurance experience working in Vancouver, Hong Kong, Sydney and for the last eight years Toronto.  Connecting her technical expertise to relationship and business building – before HUNTERS she ran a significant Toronto based insurance brokerage.

Brooke has personal hands-on experience at the boardroom table resolving claims crises and distressed Insurance situations.  Her personal experience also extends to being a very tough insurance Client – a view she takes regularly to best serve HUNTERS’ Clients.

With enthusiasm, Brooke has given talks for the likes of the Annual Conference of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors, Report on Business Television, the Property Casualty Underwriters Society, Women Entrepreneurs of Canada and the Ontario Bar Association.  Brooke was an insurance and risk management contributor to the book Joint Ventures, Legal and Business Perspectives by Reiter/Shishler and The E-Policy Handbook by Nancy Flynn.

Active on multiple community boards, Brooke has served on the boards of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise, St Clement's School and two private clubs.  She currently sits on the board of the Toronto Insurance Conference and The Canadian Mothercraft Society.  Brooke is a supporter of the charity Trails Youth Initiatives - and with her husband, Mark Gaynor, set up the "Brooke and Mark Bridging the Gap Fund" as a start to their marriage.  Their daughters Ailish and Aubrey Gaynor are three and one respectively - both attending Mothercraft Robertson House for school/daycare.

Brooke’s outlet as a consequence of pursuing Art History in University – is collecting more mid 20th century Canadian Art than she has space.
