If you are a HUNTERS Client, you can expect us to coach you and advocate your interests through the claims process to achieve satisfactory resolution without delay. We also offer these services separately for a fee.

Reporting to the board or its representative, we put you in control by:

  • Helping you craft the claim or potential claim submission document. Most policies have strict requirements as to how this occurs. Experience has shown us that fully addressing what is colloquially referred to as the 4 W’s will enhance your ability to manage a potential claim.
  • Outlining the entire claims handling process and diarizing dead-line requirements. For example, depending on your policy wording the insurer may retain counsel and pay on your behalf or you retain counsel approved by the insurer with bills reimbursed to you.
  • Working with you and the insurer to arrive at mutually satisfactory counsel. Again, policy wording affects this outcome, pro-active management leads to better results.
  • Giving you the heads-up as to any potential coverage issues and illuminating dispute resolution options. We have a lawyer on staff to enhance your view and strategy.
  • If necessary, getting all parties to the table for reasonable resolution. HUNTERS has relationships with all the major Directors & Officers Liability insurers in Canada. We know the Practice Leader personally and the President. We also know how to navigate the claims departments which are largely very separate divisions.
